When the revolution in Tunesia started, Hafiz Dhaou i Aïcha M’Barek travelled to Beirut to work on a piece. Dhaou pushes himself to his limits in this poetical and emotional explosion, the result of the storm unleashed inside the dancer as a result of the Arab Spring.
Hafiz Dhaou and Aïcha M’Barek are essential figures of the Tunisian contemporary dance scene. They both trained at the Sybel Ballet Theatre in Tunisia before moving to France in 2000, where they pursued their training at Centre National de Danse Contemporaine in Angers. Four years later, they presented their first performance as a duo, Khallini Aïch. Since the foundation of the company Chatha in 2005 they have been inventing their common choreographic language, not without highlighting their duality. Cie. Chatha was selected by the modul-dance project in 2010.
