Mor Shani & Paul Sixta Landhol: Intergenerational Workshop

Share

Recommended Age: 6 to 99 years

THIS WORKSHOP WILL TAKE PLACE AT EL GRANER, FÀBRICA DE CREACIÓ (c. Jane Adams, 14-16, Barcelona)

Love-ism is a long term study inspired by the book “ART OF LOVING” by Erich Fromm. With his research Mor Shani wishes to take a closer
look on the human experience of intimacy. Love-ism is a modular piece of work, and is compiled of community workshops, film products, two stage duets and one full evening stage piece.

The working methods of this study and production trajectory aspire to demonstrate an essential manner of thinking about the creation and presentation of contemporary dance with and within a community; in which participants and audiences are encouraged to become co-authors and critical spectators.

With Love-ism workshops we explore personal authentic movement of every participant allowing naive and trained bodies to meet  on a common ground. We use the intuitive knowledge of the bodies to understand and enrich personal choice making while improvising and experience the essentials of “dancing together”. Following the praxis that is developed in the study of Love-ism participants use the givens of the different personalities and try to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. Touch and ideas about love like mutuality and care are transformed into bodily narratives regarding the human experience of intimacy. Emotion is used as a motor of motion.

Workshops are costume made per each group, and all result with a video art product for participants to keep.Suitable for non dancers, dancers and mixed groups.

The result of the workshop will be recorded and It will take part of the show LOVE ISM. Workshop in english.
