Festival EL MÉS PETIT DE TOTS

November 11 to 19

13th international performing arts festival for young children (0-5 years old)

For two weeks the Mercat de les Flors hosts El Més Petit de Tots, an international festival that introduces the contemporary performing arts scene to children and their families. The Mercat becomes a playschool for inquisitive children and for the teachers and parents accompanying them on this wonderful voyage of discovery.

We feel their curiosity too, as do the choreographers, with whom they share movements and performances. Above all, we want to give the children the wings they need to foster their freedom of movement.

This festival functions as a network involving towns and cities around Catalonia and features a programme full of light and energy: dancers who shape soap bubbles in Le Petit Bain (A little bath), by the company Johanny Bert-Théâtre de Romette (France); Akari, a journey to discover the light of the Japan of a thousand years ago, by DA.TE Danza (Andalusia); the awakening of emotional imagery proposed by Montse Roig in Blink Flash Duncan (Catalonia); the children’s gaze and perceptions that inspire Opus 1, by the company À Côté (France); and the wonderful universe created by the company De Stilte (Netherlands) in HiHa Huttenbouwers (Cabin-builders). The goal is to open up a space where young spectators feel free to experiment with the art and their bodies.

You should also keep tabs on the programme of activities, conferences and workshops the Festival offers to families, professionals and educators, first introduced two years ago.
