FESTIVAL HOP 2016

The Mercat will once again host the finals of the Urban Dances Performing Arts Contest, in its 4th year and organised by the Hop Festival with the idea of promoting and encouraging these dances in their various forms. The event is part of the official programme of the Hop Festival – 6th Meeting of Dance and Urban Culture, which generates synergies and networking with other festivals and cultural facilities. The festival includes a creative residency programme, get-togethers, competitions, laboratories, creative capsules, artistic exchanges and presentations of stage proposals.

The preliminary rounds of the competition will be held in November 2016 at the following civic centres in Barcelona: Barceloneta, Casa del Rellotge-Sala Pepita Casanellas, Tomasa Cuevas-Les Corts, and the Auditori Sant Martí. The winners of the solo, duet and group categories will appear at the Mercat on 17 December.
