HOP FESTIVAL

December 9 to 17

The Mercat once again hosts the HOP Festival, a project promoted by the association El Generador, Art i Creació Cultural, which has been fomenting the creation of contemporary urban dance for the stage since 2011. The HOP is a platform for research, production, dissemination and exhibition, which urban dancers can use as a meeting point to develop and showcase their artistic work. Similarly, it provides a point of reference for the public, programmers and managers.

Featuring companies and representatives from European festivals, the HOP Festival will host international, national and local proposals, specialized creative laboratories, spaces for meeting up, training and dialogue, and also dance workshops for all audiences.

October and November will see the implementation of the Camins de creació project at different community and cultural centres in Barcelona. The programming will consist of exhibitions, workshops and presentations of work in progress by local and national artists.
