Irregular Section

1 and 2 December 2012, and 16 January, 27 February, 27 March, 24 April, 8 and 11 May 2013

Following last season’s success the Mercat de les Flors has decide to repeat with the Irregular Section.

The programming begins in December 2012 with Llámame Mariachi by La Ribot. The legendary creator of Piezas distinguidas is an emblem of experimental art whom we  wanted to find a place for in the Irregular Section.

This season the Irregular Section is working with the Tàpies Foundation on the feminist performance archive Re.Act, which  the Foundation will host from November 2012 to February 2013.

The Irregular Section lays the emphasis on the capacity of dance to transform itself and generate a multitude of different pieces that succeed in making us repeatedly review our ideas about this discipline.

In this sense, a selection of local, national and international artists follow their own ideas to present works that use the body as a sign, without attempting to fit into established formats.

Although the works draw on notions of choreography, their formalization varies enormously and includes such diverse languages as concert, film, movement, sculpture and performance, among others.
