Return trips to Holland

For years now we have been hearing that the Netherlands is a reference point for dance today. So we have decided to present a programme of international artists who have had a special relationship with Holland and have made several trips back and forth. To this end we have been able to count on a key festival in Amsterdam, Julidans, which since it was launched twenty-five years ago has maintained support for now well-established artists while continuing to search for new talent.

There are three lines in the programming of the LANDHOL cycle. There are shows reflecting the history of dance that emphasize the importance of memory, others with a powerful social component, and lastly the Julidans NEXT, committed to new talent. It is a lucky coincidence that the Antic Teatre established ties long ago with one of the major dance training schools in Amsterdam, the SNDO, and for this reason they will share their programming with that of the Mercat, essentially made up of Catalans who graduated last year. This will also foster discussion of schools and training.

We particularly recommend the talks and parallel activities in order to learn more about the Dutch scene and understand how they have managed to make dance an art with more opportunities there than in Catalonia. We would like to thank institutions such as the Julidans festival itself, the Performing Arts Fund NL and the Dutch embassy in Madrid for making this series possible.

Have a good trip!!! / Goede reis!!!
