SÂLMON< European Talents Upstream

October 19 to November 3

SÂLMON< is back for a second time. We remain committed to talent, to creators with new proposals, artists with fresh ideas, European, and sometimes going against the current. A look at local and international artists in the framework of the artistic residencies offered by ElGraner centre for dance creation and the European modul-dance project led by Mercat de les Flors, which includes 19 other dancehouses. A busy programme of events lasting two weeks, with different formats and diverse approaches to the body and movement.

Artists repeating at SÂLMON< this year: Umma Umma Dance, who will give us a preview of their new work, and Lali Ayguadé, who has created a piece with Marcos Morau / La Veronal. We will combine accompaniment and support for the artists from last year’s event with the work of new residents, such interesting creative talents as El Conde de Torrefiel, Diego Anido and Sebastián García Ferro.

The festival offers a look at international creations linked to the modul-dance project. The Loose Collective will open the festival with a concert-performance about the Old Testament, providing a view of the Austrian creative scene. Other artists who were in residence at ElGraner while creating their shows will be presented during SÂLMON<: Alessandro Sciarroni, Eugénie Rebetez, Patricia Apergi (Aerites Dance Company), and Jurij Konjar with Martin Kilvady, member of the collective Les Slovaks.

Thanks to El Graner’s network initiative, we are able to present artists linked to other centres for creation. This year we have invited the choreographer Guy Nader, who will stage a piece developed in collaboration with Mickael Marso and another work with Maria Campos. And on this occasion Sònia Gómez will present the research she is carrying out with the English choreographer Lucy Suggate.

SÂLMON< aims to consolidate itself as a space that gives visibility to different ways of understanding choreography. SÂLMON< includes shows, laboratories for professionals, spaces for reflection and spaces for meetings with the public.

Wishing everyone a great SÂLMON<!
