THE SHOW

A concert with dancers: this defines the work of the charismatic Catalan hip hop company Brodas Bros in its new show, Concierto Concepto, where dance and music capture the company’s energy, technique and positivism. Everything recalls a concert: from the aesthetics and the choreographic composition to the staging, hence the title of the show. The concept is what makes it different.

Two brothers, two sisters and two b-boys who perform impossible acrobatics count on the help of two versatile musicians (a flutist-cum-saxophonist specialised in beatbox and a percussionist) and three virtual musicians (an MC, a bassist and a DJ) to bring together virtual and live music. A wide range of music, including 70s funk, hip hop, electronica, dubstep and soul, forms the basis of the show.

THE COMPANY

The Brodas Bros company was founded in 2006 when the brothers Pol and Lluc Fruitós, after numerous performances and workshops, decided to give a name to all the work they were producing. The sisters Clara and Berta Pons soon joined this Catalan dance and urban culture company to take the female hip-hop role. Despite being such a young company, they have already performed five shows all over the world. The last one, bearing the name of the company itself, Brodas Bros, was seen by over 25,000 spectators inBarcelona.
