Every public presentation of this piece is a premiere, because it’s different every time, although it was first presented in 2019 at the Berlin International Festival Tans Im August. Fifty years of practice have shaped Deborah Hay’s way of choreographing and performing. In order to preserve her interest in dance, Hay has continually reinvented her commitment to the moving body. The solo presented here, my choreographed body… revisited, is a tribute to this wealth of experimentation, a seal of the choreographer.

US-born Deborah Hay began her work in the 1960s at the Judson Dance Theater in New York, home to one of the most radical and influential postmodern art movements. Hay’s dance seeks to free the body from dependence on learnt behaviour by giving the dancer a wider range of sources of movement.
