Sound and visual images which surround art in order to love invention
The show is based on an original idea by the Danish artist Karl Stets. To carry out his project Stets, who defines himself as a “perfectionist of absurdity”, has surrounded himself with other hybrid artists – artistic musicians, musical artists from the circus and a music-loving lighting technician. All of them are willing to misuse their art for the sake of invention. Together they form the Cacophonic Pictures Orkestar, an orchestra with a strong inclination for the absurd, which fills the stage with sound and visual images.
In ¡Disparate! there are no great feats or amazing tricks. The show is the sum of a series of small details and clumsy gaffes where the instruments, the humans and the objects oscillate constantly between dialogue and dispute. In the blink of an eye, the action swings from harmony to chaos, from the Baroque to the Far West, from delicate manipulation to an earthquake of sound and images. Until everything ends in disaster.
