COMPAÑÍA NACIONAL DE DANZA. Artistic Director: José Carlos Martínez

Marcos Morau, choreographer with the up-and-coming company La Veronal, has created a piece for the CND. The great national company directed by José Carlos Martínez is committed to promoting the emerging talent of our young artists.

Marcos Morau formed La Veronal in 2005. It is a company made up of artists from the worlds of dance, film, literature and photography, with whom he has created several shows. They have won numerous awards and the highest praise from critics and audiences. Lali Ayguadé has worked with Akram Khan and Hofesh Shechter’s companies, among others. In 2010 she was nominated outstanding dancer at the London Critics’ Awards. Lali Ayguadé organises workshops all over the world, which help her to create and define her own language, and she continues to create her own pieces.

Marcos Morau is an associate artist at Mercat de les Flors.

Since 2011 the Compañía Nacional de Danza, founded in 1979, is directed by José Carlos Martínez, principal dancer with the Paris Opera Ballet. Its goal is to promote and disseminate the art of dance and its repertoire in the broadest sense of the terms, therefore including from classical and neoclassical ballet to contemporary choreographic languages. The company welcomes both Spanish and international artists, facilitating their presentation to new audiences and promoting their national and international projection in a context of complete artistic and creative freedom

Marcos Morau has been awarded with the National Dance Award 2013 in the category of creation. Check the news here (spanish).
