ATENEU POPULAR 9BARRIS Nu, 23è Circ d’Hivern. By Quim Girón

Nu is a contemporary circus show that speaks simply and transparently about human relations and how they interact with objects. Five artists on stage that coexist with different performing languages to discover each other in a hybrid space.

The Circ d’Hivern is one of the most important and well-established circus creation projects in Catalonia. It was initiated in 1996 by the Ateneu Popular de Nou Barris, a public socio-cultural centre that works to a community management model born out of the 1977neighbours’ occupation. Quim Girón, director of Nu, is the founder and artistic director of the contemporary circus company Animal Religion.
