Sound and light create their own dance in Accumulating

Accumulating is an accumulation of sound, light and movement that proposes a contemporary ritual bridging clubbing culture and choreographic minimalism. The piece focuses on two historical moments in the world of dance and music of the early 1970s: the shift of paradigm toward postmodern dance with the Judson Dance Theater group and the origins of techno in Detroit. This choreography is a review of the compositional methods of that generation. The show was produced in collaboration with ZA! and Cube.bz, responsible for the music composition and the set and lighting design respectively.

Trained at the Amsterdam School of Arts, Aimar Pérez Galí worked in the Netherlands for several years and is currently pursuing his career in Spain. His work moves in the area of research into the relationship between dance, movement, education and the development of new procedural approaches to stage practice. His recent shows include Delta, A Post-Believe Manifesto, the performative lecture Sudando el discurso and The Ping Pong Dialogues. He has worked and works with artists such as Xavier Le Roy, Nicole Beutler, Nora Heilmann, Andrea Bozic, David Zambrano, Abraham Hurtado / AADK and Silvia Sant Funk, among others. He is co-founder and artistic director of Espacio Práctrico, a self-established venue functioning in Barcelona city centre since 2010. He is a founder and member of the group ANTES, formed in 2014.
