Stuff, by NORBERTO LLOPIS

Stuff explores the distances lying between the object and the subject. Beyond the purely symbolic understanding of objects, we aim to explore the absurdity of worrying about objects, the absurdity of feeling transfixed by objects, the absurdity of being an object, the absurdity of making connections between objects or between people and objects.

Born in Valencia and resident in the Netherlands, Norberto Llopis holds a degree in dance and choreography. He extended his training at DasArts in Amsterdam and is currently studying philosophy at the UNED. He has worked on various projects in Barcelona, Brussels and the Netherlands and has participated in various creative processes with artists such as Carolien Hermans, Paz Rojo, Diego Gil, Jefta Van Dinther and Nada Gambier, among others.

‘Sesión de relajación (Relaxation session)’, by BLACK TULIP

This piece, presented under the sign of the Black Tulip, proposes a series of relaxation exercises that evokes, through excess and absurdity, the idea of the individual as a monad and the archetypal images of nature stripped of cultural symbols.

Black Tulip functions as an umbrella that welcomes, temporarily, an artist or group of artists in an anonymous position. The concept of Black Tulip has been developed in contexts such as Centro Cultural São Paulo, The Office in Berlin, Gallery SIS in Sabadell, Inéditos in Madrid, the SOS Festival in Murcia, in the performance programme at MACBA, in Halfhouse and in Indisciplines at Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona last season.
