The Loose Collective has recently attracted attention for its shows’ freshness and absence of conventions. In its latest work, the Austrian company, made up of an international group of dancers, choreographers and musicians, has directed its gaze at the writings of the Old Testament. Drawing on contemporary methods of representation – cut-up techniques, choral scenes, beat-boxing and the postpunk diaspora – they propose a physical and musical mise-en-scène with various elements from this extraordinary literary corpus, which today constitutes an expression of creativity and utopian ideals, human ambition and frustration.

The Loose Collective is an Austrian group made up of contemporary dancers, musicians and choreographers from around the world. It was founded by Alex Deutinger, Alexander Gottfarb, Marta Navaridas and Anna Maria Nowak with the intention of creating music and dance shows with a non-hierarchical structure. Their works have been presented at the Vienna Tanzquartier, the Feedback Festival, the Sochi Winter Theatre, the Kino Šiška in Ljubljana, the Made in Dublin Festival, the Project Arts Centre in Dublin, the Impulstanz International Dance Festival in Vienna, the Zagreb Dance Week Festival, the B-Motion Festival in Bassano del Grappa and the Tanzwerkstatt Europa in Munich.
