ANTONIO RUZ / JUAN KRUZ DÍAZ DE GARAIO ESNAOLA Vaivén

In Vaivén Antonio Ruz and Juan Kruz Diaz de Garaio Esnaola become a mutual source of inspiration and instruments. The show consists of two solos in which the two choreographers and performers take on and exchange the roles of director and performer; and each of the solos is a separate entity. The sum of the two pieces and the experience of this explorative journey lead the artists to discover layers and levels of interpretation where the two solos nourish each other, as a network of infinite positive and negative poles.

Antonio Ruz and Juan Kruz Diaz de Garaio Esnaola met in 2006 and have worked together in many projects since then, some produced by themselves and others within the structure of Sasha Waltz & Guests. Since that meeting, and on the path they have followed together, they have discovered affinities and common interests. And thanks to the rapport and the trust this has generated they are now able to place themselves in each other’s hands in order to channel their artistic aspirations. This, with a degree of intimacy that only a long-term relationship makes possible.
