Sala Pina Bausch

Opened in January 2011 as a tribute to choreographer Pina Bausch, this multipurpose auditorium covering 240 m2 acts as a rehearsal room and also hosts small-scale activities.

With titles such as The Rite of Spring and Café Müller, Pina Bausch (Solingen, 1940 -Wuppertal, 2009) was the creator of dance-theatre. Her innovative proposals were not received without controversy, and during the 36 years she cultivated them as director of the Tanztheater Wuppertal, she opened up a new dimension to dance by contributing new dramatic resources and great poetic power. Her work 1980 was the first contemporary dance show to be performed at the Mercat de les Flors.
