His writings helped to draw attention to theatre acts such as circus, conjuring, music hall and puppets, banished by high culture.\u00a0 A classmate of Joan Mir\u00f3\u2019s and pen friend of Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca\u2019s, Gasch was the mind behind the <em>Manifest Groc<\/em>, a manifesto that opposed the <em>Noucentista<\/em> cultural movement (classically orientated) and which was also signed by Salvador Dal\u00ed and Luis Montany\u00e0.
